- Hydronically heated with finned tube convectors
- Single pipe monoflow riser system
Innovative and cost efficient HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design by Axiom Engineers(sm) for this new dining hall and six new five-story residence hall buildings was a key element in the University of California Santa Cruz meeting its student housing needs.
The dining hall consists of dining and multi-use rooms, a large kitchen facility, and faculty club dining/meeting spaces on the top floor. The facility provides meals for over 800 students and features a state-of-the-art kitchen facility with over 40,000 cfm of kitchen exhaust and make-up air.
Each of the six residence halls is hydronically heated with finned tube convectors utilizing a cost saving, single pipe monoflow riser system. The project is completed with all buildings operational and occupied.
